Punalu'u Beach Dune Restoration Project
The 15u, 16u, and 17u girls worked together under the sun, cleaning up debris, from plastic waste to abandoned fishing gear, and planted native grasses and shrubs to stabilize the sand dunes, helping to prevent erosion and create a safe habitat for local wildlife. They left with a sense of accomplishment, having learned firsthand about the delicate balance of coastal ecosystems and knowing they've played a part in preserving the beach for future generations and supporting the delicate balance of the coastal ecosystem.
Nanakuli Boys & Girls Club Clinic
April 26 - We are extremely grateful for the Nanakuli Boys and Girls Club for allowing us to lead a free basketball clinic for their community. In partnership with CarWash808 and all of the other sponsors, we were able to not only teach basketball fundamentals but also to inspire self-confidence and teamwork in younger kids. Every participant received a free t-shirt, basketball, water, and a snack courtesy of Chun Wah Kam. Mahalo to the Nanakuli Boys and Girls Club and to all of our sponsors for creating this opportunity and making it happen for the community. We can't wait until the next one!
Wai'anae YMCA Clinic
April 27 - For Part 2 of our Hoops For Na Aina Community Giveback, we partnered with the Wai'anae YMCA to host two free clinic sessions for the community. Each participant received a free t-shirt, basketball and snacks courtesy of all our sponsors. 3 participants from each session were recognized for demonstrating exceptional teamwork, respect and effort. We look forward to the next free clinic with the Wai'anae YMCA.
Best of Na Aina Summer Challenge
June - With the support of all our sponsors, we hosted two events for the community - 3x3 Summer Challenge and AAU Global Games. These two events were able to host over 250 teams combined, creating an intense and competitive atmosphere where players of all levels could showcase their talents. Having the opportunity to host these events allows our local athletes compete against mainland level competition to continue to grow the game locally. We appreciate all of our sponsors that made this possible!
